Open Path Sanctuary and Templum Gnostica is an organization founded for the advancement of Pagan and Occult interests in South-Central and Southeastern Alabama. Serving the community surrounding AuburnUniversity, Open Path is unaffiliated with any fraternal or religious organization, church, or order. However, we welcome members who belong to any religious sect.
Our focus is on Ceremonial Magick or the Western Mystery Traditions (primarily Hermetics, Alchemy, and Theurgy), but we also incorporate a robust foundation in Western Pagan Traditions (primarily Modern Witchcraft of various Celtic Traditions, Shamanism, and Kemetics), Kabala, and Yoga.

I have been following you on facebook and I just found this page and was wondering about classes and rituals and esbats and if they are something i can do on line. I am part of a small group now but we only meet once a month and I can’t always go and I am always seeking ways to advance my learning. I live in cedar Bluff AL and know I follow a pagan path but haven’t chosen exactly which one yet, only know that I am drawn to the celtic path.

This is designed for you to be able to follow along with local classes or study independently online. Feel free to jump right in. I’m a little behind right now (it’s midterms at my day job) but I’ve got a whole slew of exciting things lined up.
Just for fun reading, you might look at http://www.southernkitchenwitch.wordpress.com, a brand-spanking-new blog by an Alabama Celtic Witch, Seba O’Kiley (also on Facebook).

I have been following you on The Bad Witch Files and think you are both wry and correct. You say it like it is. I bet you ruffle plenty of feathers. I am of the opinion that feathers need to be ruffled from time to time. Such a practice gets the mites out. I can’t wait to see what Open Path has to offer.
I am an American in the UK and many of the groups here are too stuffed with themselves for me. “A grain of salt” as you always say, no?
Thank you for making this site.

Hi! I’m so excited! Have a look at “Southern Kitchen Witch” too. And *be sure* to tell her I sent you. She’s a dyed-in-the-wool Southern Momma who got tossed up to New Jersey and the Lord and Lady found a way to bring her back to her roots here in Alabama – and her blog kicks butt (with a wooden spoon at that). I adore the red clay she walks on.
